willy's crockers ride, 2025

Are you joining Willy for the Crocker's Ride Memorial Day Weekend?

All waivers and checklists that you need are below for you to download! Here is a link to the event on our Facebook page.

Downloads

Download, complete, and bring your waivers and Safety Checklist to our next event. Everyone in your vehicle must have a waiver including children. Paid members of Greater MKE 4x4 only need to complete one waiver per year but a Safety Checklist should be completed at each event. Our website host does not support .gpx files - if you would like map files of Camp Sinawa to uploading to your mapping app (such as OnX or Gaia) they were posted to our Members-Only FaceBook page, or email us: greatermke4x4@gmail.com

A Jeep driving over rocks

What to Expect on a Greater MKE 4x4 Trail Ride

  • Off-road driving is potentially dangerous to people and your vehicle. Never wheel alone, and plan ahead for the safety of everyone on the trails.

  • Please off-road legally and responsibly. Follow all treadlightly! principles and use a mapping app such as OnX to ensure that you are not trespassing on private land.

  • Our ride leaders are volunteers, not professional guides or mechanics. If your vehicle becomes disabled, we will assist you but we do not guarantee recovery.

  • The properties where we ride determine the size vehicles that are allowed. We strongly recommend that larger, heavier vehicles be able to self-recover. If you have questions, please ask.

  • Arrive early enough to give yourself time to sign waivers, complete a safety self-check, and to prepare your vehicle for going off-road, including airing down, disconnecting sway bars, and securing/tying down everything in your vehicle.

  • Front and rear tow-points and a full-size spare are MANDATORY on our rides. A hitch ball (or trailer ball or tow ball) is NOT an acceptable tow-point.
  • We use GMRS radio to communicate while driving.
  • Everyone in your vehicle must have and use a seatbelt.
  • Everyone in your vehicle should wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes/boots regardless of weather.
  • Most people bring a lunch and eat on the trail (or in parking lot).
  • There are bathrooms at trail-heads and near parking lots, but typically not on the trails.
  • Plan to show proof of insurance, sign a waiver, and conduct a self-check safety inspection – your vehicle must be licensed, registered, and insured.
  • Know how to put your vehicle in 4-low.
  • Know how to air down to an PSI for your vehicle and tire/wheel type - ask if you need help.
  • Some properties have an air compressor, but not all. Plan how you will air back up – most people bring a portable compressor or 12-volt/cigarette lighter inflator.
  • Bring a garbage bag and pack out anything that you bring in, including cigarette butts.
  • Bring water, snacks, bug spray, sun screen, chairs, raingear, etc.

Yes! You can participate in our rides if you don't have recovery gear! Just let your ride leader know.
